p53 gene (Gendicine®) and embolisation overcame recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma

Abstract
Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) has become the standard treatment for unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). 1-4 But this method is often unsuccessful. The p53 gene, which is present as a mutant form in many human tumors, is known to have broad- spectrum anti-tumor effects when expressed normally. In this study, we report a 23-year-old patient with recurrent HCC, who was treated with p53 gene (Gendicine®, Shenzhen Sibiono Gentech, China) combining TACE, which resulted in good clinical prognosis.
