Diagnostic procedure in bleeding of obscure origin from the alimentary canal

Abstract

The diagnostic methods used in cases of melaena where the history and clinical picture provide no evidence of the site of bleeding are surveyed. In the light of our own experience with a series of 52 cases the most suitable examination procedure is discussed in detail.
