Ethnicity, GORD, Barrett’s oesophagus and Helicobacter pylori infection

The community study of Helicobacter pylori infection and the risk of Barrett’s oesophagus of Corley et al (Gut 2008;57:727–33) produced similar and contrasting results to our hospital-based endoscopic study on the same theme involving a multiethnic Asian patient population.1 Unfortunately, our study1 was not cited by the authors.
