↵3-150 During the overall observation period of 14 days on at least one day: pulmonary insufficiency: PaO2 <60 mm Hg; renal insufficiency: serum creatinine >200 μmol/l; shock: systolic BP <80 mm Hg over at least 15 minutes; systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS): at least two of the following criteria: leucocytes, >12.0 cells/mm3 or <4.0 cells/mm3, body temperature >38.0°C or <36.0°C, heart rate >90 beats/min, PaCO2<32 mm Hg, or respiratory rate >20 breaths/min.
aMultiple organ failure (MOF): two or more organ/systemic complications requiring continuous oxygen supply, mechanical ventilation, haemofiltration, or administration of catecholamines.
bSeptic MOF: MOF as a consequence of infected pancreatic necrosis.
