HII, hepatic iron index.
↵2-150 Patient died one week after admission; postmortem histology of the liver showed Perls' staging varying from 0 in malignant cells to 3+ in normal hepatocytes. Uneven haemosiderin deposits might have been the cause of a low HII.
↵2-151 This patient was diagnosed six years prior to this admission; serum ferritin at presentation was 3160 μg/l and transferrin saturation was 100%. Original biopsy results are shown. The iron indexes measured at admission are after treatment and therefore excluded from calculations.
↵2-152 This patient received oral iron after hospital discharge.
