Welcome to Gut's guidelines for authors and reviewers. These guidelines have been compiled to provide maximum support and assistance for authors and reviewers throughout all stages of the publication process.

Gut uses an online submission and review system (Bench>Press) and manuscripts must be submitted via Bench>Press. Please register with Bench>Press or contact the editorial office if you are unable to submit in this way.

Editorial Staff at Gut recommend that you consult the guidelines to authors since research shows that studies adhering to the recommended guidelines are of improved quality and scientific validity. Reviewers are encouraged to consider whether manuscripts meet the guidelines and those that do not will be accorded a lower priority.

Editors reserve the right to return manuscripts that do not meet these guidelines within these instructions.
