2022, Translational Autoimmunity: Autoimmune Diseases in Different OrgansPredictors of long-term cryoglobulinemic vasculitis outcomes after HCV eradication with direct-acting antivirals in the real-life
2022, Autoimmunity ReviewsCitation Excerpt :Many patients with MC remain asymptomatic, while 5–30% develop a systemic disorder, the Cryoglobulinemic Vasculitis (CV) involving medium/small size vessels [10], due to the deposit of CGs and complement factors on the vascular endothelium [11]. CV, also termed MC syndrome, is characterized by the classical triad of Meltzer and Franklin: purpura, arthralgia and asthenia [9], frequently associated to one or more symptoms secondary to multiple organ involvement, namely skin, joints, kidney, nervous system, salivary and lachrymal glands [2,4,12,13]. The complex of these symptoms may severely affect the quality of life and the overall prognosis of CV [3,12,13].
