2024, Food HydrocolloidsAntioxidation and anti-inflammatory actions of the extract of Nitraria Tangutorum Bobr. fruits reduce the severity of ulcerative colitis in a dextran sulphate sodium-induced mice model
2022, Journal of Functional FoodsCitation Excerpt :Nevertheless, excessive NO production by an isoform of NO synthase, which can be induced by inflammatory stimuli, leads to changes in vascular permeability and tissue injury (Boughton-Smith et al., 1993). Moreover, mucosal NO biosynthesis is increased in active colitis, and NO may have a pathogenic role in UC (Middleton, Shorthouse, & Hunter, 1993). Therefore, we further evaluated the protective effects of different extracts of N. tangutorum fruits in vitro in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 cells, and the anti-inflammatory capacity of the different extracts of N. tangutorum fruits was evaluated by measuring the NO level.
