Comment

Patients with suspected small bowel pathology remain a diagnostic and therapeutic challenge. When a careful history has eliminated common causes for gastrointestinal blood loss or diarrhea (family history, use of NSAIDs, alcohol use or abuse, symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease, travel and suspected infection, antibiotic use, etc.) and upper endoscopy and colonoscopy are negative for detectable sources of blood loss or potentially responsible mucosal pathology, examination of the small
