Primary pulmonary hypertension after portocaval shunt

J Clin Gastroenterol. 1983 Aug;5(4):353-6. doi: 10.1097/00004836-198308000-00014.

Abstract

Pulmonary hypertension is a rare association of portal hypertension, although its etiology is unclear. We report the development of severe "primary" pulmonary hypertension after an end-to-side portacaval shunt in a woman with postnecrotic cirrhosis.
