The Augmented Histamine Test with Special Reference to Achlorhydria

    Abstract

    The Kay augmented histamine test has been used in a special study of 30 patients with pernicious anaemia and 136 other subjects suspected of having achlorhydria. The findings have been correlated with uropepsinogen excretion, serum levels of vitamin B12, and gastric biopsy. The definition of achlorhydria is specially considered.
