The augmented histamine test in the differential diagnosis between ulcer and cancer of the stomach

    Abstract

    The maximum gastric acidity has been studied using the augmented histamine test in patients with gastric ulcer, with ulcers in the body of the stomach, with pre-pyloric ulcers, and in patients with gastric carcinoma. The results have not enabled a clear distinction to be made between simple and malignant ulcers.
