In the paper by Sheil *et al* ([Gut 2004;53:694–700](http://gut.bmj.com/lookup/volpage/53/694)), a part of the caption to fig 1 has been printed incorrectly. The sentence currently reads “Gastrointestinal inflammatory score in the probiotic and control fed groups is shown.” The sentence should have read “Gastrointestinal inflammatory score in the probiotic and control groups is shown.”
