An author was omitted from the paper by Francés et al (Gut 2004;53:860–4), entitled Bacterial DNA activates cell mediated immune response and nitric oxide over-production in peritoneal macrophages from patients with cirrhosis and ascites. This paper was published in the June issue and the missing author is E Rodriguez, Immunology Department, Hospital General Universitario, Alicante, Spain.
