Histological analysis of the nodules disclosed hamartomatous polyps. Figures 1 and 2 show finger-like projections with a fibrotic axis run by numerous small capillaries, and surface squamous epithelium undergoing a severe orthokeratosis. In fact, this patient had Cowden’s disease (CD) and no other member of her family was affected.
