We thank Drs Sachan and Mandavdhare for their comments.1 2 First, there was no significant difference between endosonography (EUS) and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) arms regarding the timing of cholecystectomy. In the EUS arm, 44, 49 and 14 patients underwent cholecystectomy within 2 weeks, 4 weeks and beyond 4 weeks, respectively, after randomisation; while in the MRCP arm, 47, 53 and 9 patients underwent cholecystectomy within 2 weeks, 4 weeks and beyond 4 weeks, respectively after randomisation (p=0.515).
