Abstract

Background This study aims to explore the effectiveness of implementing precision nursing models during routine gastroscopy procedures, with the objectives of optimizing patients’ nursing experiences, reducing the incidence of complications, and enhancing the overall quality of the examination process.

Methods A total of 100 patients who underwent routine gastroscopy at our institution between January 2023 and December 2023 were selected as subjects. A randomized controlled trial design was conducted, dividing these patients randomly into a precision nursing group (n=50) and a conventional nursing group (n=50). The precision nursing group, in addition to standard care, emphasized individualized, comprehensive, and meticulous care strategies, encompassing detailed preoperative patient assessments, tailored health education, intraoperative comfort measures (such as music therapy to alleviate anxiety), prompt management of potential adverse reactions, and targeted rehabilitation guidance. Patient satisfaction post-nursing, examination duration, incidence of post-procedure adverse effects (nausea/vomiting, throat pain, abdominal bloating/pain), and nursing satisfaction were compared using statistical questionnaires, with results presented in tabular format.

Results The study revealed that the precision nursing group demonstrated significant advantages across all evaluation metrics. Patient satisfaction scores were higher in the precision nursing group compared to the conventional nursing group (P<0.05), with a marked reduction in the complication rate (P<0.01). The examination process was smoother, the average examination time was shorter, and there was a notably higher proportion of positive feedback regarding nursing services.

Conclusions The application of precision nursing in routine gastroscopy effectively enhances patients’ feelings of security and comfort, decreases the risk of adverse events, and elevates the overall quality and efficiency of medical services. Thus, promoting the principles and techniques of precision nursing holds significant practical value for improving patient healthcare experiences and upgrading the quality of medical services, meriting its widespread adoption in clinical practice.
