The clinical impact of the condition in the community and the economic costs were assessed using data from a large cross sectional survey. Dyspepsia may be costing society £1 billion each year in the UK. Thus dyspepsia is a huge clinical and economic burden and cost effective management strategies and treatments are urgently required.
