AB The annual prevalence of dyspepsia in Western countries is approximately 25%, and the condition accounts for 2–5% of all primary care consultations, yet optimal management remains a subject of considerable debate. Some of the outstanding issues and considerations in the management of dyspepsia are discussed, providing an overview of current thinking and recommendations on patient management by primary care physicians and specialists.
