Disease activity was graded using the Truelove index (class I–III). *The pulsatility index of patients with ulcerative colitis was significantly different from controls (p<0.05). In patients with severe disease activity the fasting pulsatility index was significantly lower than in controls (p<0.001) and patients in clinical remission (p<0.001).
