DSS I mice were subjected to two, four, five, six, or seven days of DSS feeding before being killed. DSS II mice were subjected to two seven day cycles of DSS feeding. Control mice were pair fed (normal feed) along with DSS I mice for seven days prior to being killed.
Substrate oxidation was measured as 14CO2liberated from [14C]-butyrate or glucose and expressed as μmol/h per mg protein. Values are mean (SEM). Student'st-test:
