Family members were studied for hepatitis B virus (HBV) markers and HBV-DNA in serum after the 1999 survey and revealed the following:
Case 99-3: father HBsAg(+), S132Y; mother HBsAg(+), wild-type; younger sister HBsAg(−) HBV-DNA(−).
Case 99-2: serum of her mother was resampled in 2001 and was found to be HBsAg(−) and HBV-DNA(−).
