Helicobacter pylori and Gastric Cancer
2021, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Clinics of North AmericaCitation Excerpt :Gastric adenocarcinoma is further classified into 2 main histologic types, intestinal or diffuse type. H pylori is associated with both subtypes of gastric cancer, although it is more frequently associated with and better characterized in the development of intestinal adenocarcinoma.17 Intestinal type-tumors are characterized by corpus-dominant gastritis with gastric atrophy and intestinal metaplasia, whereas diffuse type are characterized by gastritis throughout the stomach without atrophy.
