2020, Experimental Cell ResearchCitation Excerpt :Only Lamin B1 is continuously expressed in all cellular processes [5,10–13]. Lamin B2 is an important member of the lamin protein family encoded by LMNB2, which can selectively shear to form Lamin B3[7,11,13,14]. As opposed to knockout in other lamins, targeted Lamin B2 knockout does not significantly change the nuclear fibril protein network; however, the structure of the nucleolus structure is affected [15].
Artificial Intracellular Filaments
2020, Cell Reports Physical ScienceCitation Excerpt :Noncovalent filaments of proteins are ubiquitous and play many critical roles in cells, such as myosin filaments for contraction,1 actin filaments for maintaining cell shapes,2 microtubules for cell division,3 and intermediate filaments for supporting the nuclear envelope.4
